Few days ago I was invited to attend a Mulberry event at Folli Follie boutique in Bologna. This luxury shop, situated in the heart of my city, collects all the must have brands for a true fashion addicted.
Qualche giorno fa mi è arrivato l'invito a partecipare ad un evento presso la boutique Folli Follie di Bologna, un luxury shop nel cuore della mia città che nell'eleganza delle sue vetrine riunisce tutti i brands must have per ogni fashion addicted che si rispetti.
The event was all about the new Mulberry fall winter 2013 collection, a british brand, leader in the leather manufacturing, that represents the english life style since 1971 (to know more about Mulberry story click here).
The collection's icon is for sure the Willow bag, noticeable for her peculiar shape and for all the details. My favorite is the Willow Tote in emerald, a statement piece with an original color but classy and chic as every Mulberry creation.
L'evento consisteva nella presentazione della nuova collezione autunno inverno 2013 di Mulberry, noto marchio inglese, leader nella lavorazione del pellame, che dal 1971 rappresenta l'English Life Style (per approfondire clicca qui).
L'icona della nuova collezione è sicuramente la Willow bag, una forma particolare ed una ricchezza nei dettagli che la fanno sicuramente distinguere.
La mia preferita è sicuramente la Willow Tote nella tonalità emerald, un colore originale, ma sempre elegante.
What made this event unforgettable was the chance to observe a Mulberry artisan choosing and working the leather to cut it in the shapes to create the Willow Tote bag.
After observing the leather, he highlighted some imperfection to avoid them while reproducing with the stenciles all the shape he needed to recreate the bag. After that he cut the leather and the result was amazing.
It was so interesting watching an expert artisan doing his job and actually understanding how much effort lies beneath every Mulberry bag.
Ciò che ha reso indimenticabile questo evento è stata la possibilità di vedere all'opera un artigiano Mulberry che ha accuratamente scelto e lavorato il pellame, fino a tagliare le forme necessarie per ricreare proprio la Willow Tote bag.
Dopo aver osservato il pellame, ha segnato alcune imperfezioni, poi ha utilizzato degli stencil che riproducevano tutte le parti della borsa ed infine ha ritagliato le parti necessarie a ricomporla.
E' stato interessantissimo ammirare un esperto artigiano all'opera e capire quanto lavoro ci sia effettivamente dietro ad una borsa Mulberry.
I think the whole idea of presenting the new Mulberry fall winter collection this way was simply brilliant. The Folli Follie team managed to ignite people curiosity putting them face to face to the real making of a hand made bag, something that is usually only in the backstage.
The accessory for once becomes the only protagonist.
Penso che sia stata un'idea fantastica presentare la nuova collezione Mulberry autunno inverno in questo modo, sicuramente il team di Folli Follie è riuscito nell'intento di accendere la curiosità dei propri clienti mettendoli a contatto con ciò che di solito rimane dietro le quinte, ossia la realizzazione vera e propria di una borsa artigianale.
L'accessorio per una sera diventa indubbiamente il vero protagonista.
