This time, though, we won't be carried away by all the amazing acessories, bags and clothes, this time let's focus on something very important, a project called SeeMe don't just look at me.
The story of this jewellery brand, that wants to "bridge the gap between luxury and fair trade", starts in Turkey thanks to the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affair effort and the cooperation with Federatie Opvang and UNFPA (for more details read here) and recently reached also Tunisia.
The concept is to help women victims of domestic violence and also single moms being stigmatized by their own families and society.
The humanitarian purpose is not realized by a simple donation of money, money is obviously helpful but once it's over, things will be the same again.
That's why this project is different, it helps to create new jobs positions so women victims of violence can integrate themselves and be independent. The goal is trying to make a better future for them, step by step.
These jewels are all hand made by those women, that's why you won't find any exactly identical to one another. Besides being beautiful and unique, they represent concrete hope for a better and possible future where otherwise it wouldn't be any.

La storia di questo brand che si definisce come "il ponte tra il lusso e il commercio equo" comincia in Turchia grazie all'impegno del Ministro per gli affari esteri olandese e la collaborazione con Federatie Opvang e UNFPA (per ulteriori dettagli leggete qui) ed ha recentemente raggiunto anche la Tunisia.
L'idea è quella di aiutare le donne vittime di violenza, in particolare quelle violenze che si consumano all'interno delle mura domestiche, e più recentemente si rivolge anche a madri single che vengono stigmatizzate dalle loro famiglie e dalla società.
Lo scopo umanitario non viene attuato attraverso un semplice contributo economico, che è sicuramente un incentivo, ma che si esaurisce in se stesso una volta elargito.
Ciò rende questo progetto differente, quello che è riuscito a creare sono posti di lavoro che permettano a queste donne di integrarsi, di provvedere a loro stesse, di essere indipendenti. In sostanza quello che si cerca di garantire è un futuro migliore passo dopo passo.
Questi gioielli sono creati a mano da queste donne, per cui non ne troverete mai uno identico ad un altro, oltre ad essere belli e unici, rappresentano anche la speranza concreta di un domani accessibile dove altrimenti non ve ne sarebbe uno.
